About Us

Since 1999, Wright's Mountain Goldens has been dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized Golden Retrievers in the hills of Danville, Vermont. Nestled on 250 scenic acres, our dogs have plenty of room to run, explore, and thrive in a family-centered environment.

Every puppy is raised with attentive care, early socialization, and regular human interaction from the very beginning. Before joining their new families, each puppy receives a thorough veterinary exam and health clearance. Our goal is simple: to raise exceptional Golden Retrievers that become cherished companions for years to come.

Meet Lanette and Leonard

Lanette and her husband, Leonard, have called Danville, Vermont home for many years, where they raised their family and built Wright's Mountain Goldens together. Lanette's love for animals began while growing up on a dairy farm in upstate New York, and Golden Retrievers have been her passion since welcoming her first Golden, Mack, in 1997.

For more than 25 years, Lanette has been dedicated to responsibly breeding Golden Retrievers with outstanding health, temperament, and structure. She has helped countless families find lifelong companions, and many Wright's Mountain puppies have gone on to serve as therapy dogs while countless others have become beloved members of their families. Together, Lanette and Leonard are proud to continue sharing their love for the breed with families across the country.

Meet Allissa

Allissa is Lanette and Leonard's fourth daughter and plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations at Wright's Mountain Goldens. She and her husband, Jeremy, live just 10 minutes away in Barnet, Vermont, where they are raising their two young sons.

Since joining the team in 2020, Allissa has become the primary point of contact for puppy applications, family communications, website updates, social media, and coordinating puppy pickup days and visits. She especially enjoys staying connected with puppy families and receiving updates as their puppies grow.

A lifelong animal lover, Allissa shares her home with several Wright's Mountain Goldens, including Sadie (retired), Nova and Tilly (current moms), Tango (future mom), and Huck, a beloved family pet. She is always happy to answer questions and help guide families through the puppy adoption process.

Meet Laura

Laura, our oldest daughter, lives in Greensboro, Vermont with her husband, Warren, and their children. Together they enjoy life on more than 70 beautiful acres, where they raise chickens, rabbits, cows, cats, and, of course, their beloved Golden Retrievers.

Laura owns and operates Hillcrest Nursery, while Warren works as a logger and mechanic. Their love for animals has been passed down to their children: Natalie enjoys showing her cows at local fairs, and Warren has his own "Rent-A-Chicken" business. Their Golden Retrievers, Molly, Maizey, Abbie, and Misty, are treasured members of the family and are raised in a home full of love, activity, and wide-open spaces.

Meet Sarah

Sarah, our second oldest daughter, lives in Mill Spring, North Carolina with her husband, Jonathan, and their two children. Their mountaintop home sits on 85 beautiful acres, providing a wonderful setting for their Golden Retrievers to run, play, and thrive.

Sarah is a registered nurse, and Jonathan owns a grading business. Together they have raised their children with a deep appreciation for animals and the responsibility that comes with caring for them. Their Goldens are an important part of daily life, and while puppies born in North Carolina are raised there initially, they travel to Vermont to meet their new families.

Their canine family includes Princess, Freedom, Sugar, Spice, Sage, Marv, and Cruz.

Meet Ericka

Ericka and her husband, Marcus, live in the neighboring town of Waterford, Vermont, where they purchased Grandma and Grandpa Wright's former home. Together they are raising their growing family while helping care for several of Wright's Mountain Goldens.

Ericka is a nurse practitioner in Littleton, New Hampshire, and Marcus is a registered nurse in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Caring for the dogs is truly a family effort, with each of their children eagerly helping with daily chores and puppy care. From assisting during whelping to cuddling the newest arrivals, their love for the dogs begins at an early age and is an important part of life at Wright's Mountain Goldens.

Meet Josh

Joshua, our only son, lives in Oxford, North Carolina with his wife, Emmy, and their two young boys. An aviation mechanic by trade, Josh also enjoys working his land, operating his small sawmill and excavator, and spending time outdoors with his family.

Their home is shared with several beloved dogs, including Golden Retrievers Honey and Maverick, as well as three young females who will join our breeding program after completing their health testing. Josh also owns Iyla and Mya, the Standard Poodles who are the mothers of our Goldendoodle litters.

Although Josh has called North Carolina home for more than a decade, he enjoys returning to Vermont with his family whenever he can to stay connected with Wright's Mountain Goldens and the rest of the family.

Meet Julia

Julia, our youngest daughter, lives in Warren, Rhode Island with her husband, Irvin, and their Golden Retrievers, Chanel and Champy. Julia is a first-grade teacher, and Irvin works as a child counselor. Together they share a love for animals and enjoy raising their dogs as part of the Wright's Mountain Goldens family.

Chanel is an important part of our breeding program, and Champy is a promising young male who will join the program after completing his health testing. Julia has always had a deep love for animals and dreams of one day having a home with a barn, chickens, and plenty of Golden Retrievers to enjoy.
