APPLYING FOR A PUPPY
ADOPTION PROCESS
- Our application fee is $50 – this is not to be applied to the total amount of your puppy. This is to simply hold your spot on our waitlist. This fee is nonrefundable.
- All of our puppies are $2,500.00 + 6% Vermont sales tax.
- The application holds your spot on the waitlist, but if we find your application unacceptable, or determine that one of our puppies would not be a good fit for you, we hold the right to deny your application.
- Once placed on our waitlist if we contact you to discuss an upcoming litter, or available puppy you reserve the right to defer for a later date, or another litter. This is why it is important to be as specific as possible on your application, in reference to timing, color desired, and size. Once you defer, if needed to defer for a second time, we would remove you from our waitlist.
ADOPTION PROCESS
- Once the application is submitted, we will be in contact to confirm your application has been approved and the estimated time frame to get a puppy. We will contact you to let you know the parent pairs and specific time. Once you have been moved onto a specific litter list, we will be in contact once the puppies from that litter are born. For some reason if there isn’t enough puppies or desired gender isn’t available you would be moved onto an upcoming litter list.
- Applicants are placed on a litter list to match their desired personality, size, color, timing desired and the parent pair that we feel would be the best fit.
- Once a litter is born, we contact everyone on the waitlist to let them know that the litter has been born, and confirm the desire to move forward with getting a puppy. If confirmed yes, we ask for half of payment to be made within a week of the puppies being born. Deposit can be made by check, Venmo or PayPal.
- Once deposit is received, we send out the pickup and appointment time that individuals would come to choose their puppy, and take home.
- Puppies go home at eight weeks – individuals will have an appointment time, based on their number on the waitlist.
- At this time, we are not doing visitation before the pickup date.
- We take weekly photos, and try to post some videos so that puppy families can watch their puppies grow before they get them at 8 weeks.
- Puppies are wormed at 2, 4, 6 weeks old.
- All puppies receive a health physical from our vet at around 7 weeks old. Puppy parents will receive a health document from Danville Animal Hospital. At their visit their heart is checked, weight is taken, ears and eyes looked at. They also are checked to make sure that they do not have hernia’s and for males, they are checked to make sure that they have both testicles descended.
- Puppies receive their first round of vaccinations before they go home. They receive the Parvo, Distemper, and influenza 1st round of vaccines.
- Puppies should receive their 2nd round of vaccinations at 10 weeks, 2 weeks after going to their homes. A health card showing dates of worming, physical and vaccinations will be given in all puppy folders.
- For Goldens and Standard Poodles, puppies will go home with their AKC registration paper. We prefer that our puppies are registered with the AKC, but at this time it is not required. We strongly recommend it.
- We have a two-year health guarantee after you take your puppy home. If your puppy was diagnosed with a serious medical condition within that first year, we would refund the total cost of your puppy, or take the puppy back and give the option for another puppy to be given.
- We recommend that you wait to neuter a male until they are two years old, and fully grown. For females we recommend that they have at least, preferably two heat cycles until spaying. Also, waiting until the female is two is recommend.
- For any reason if someone who purchased one or our puppies was no longer able to care for their dog, we require that you communicate with us first before rehoming your puppy or dog. We would reserve the right to take the puppy or dog back into our care.
- We love to keep in touch with our puppy families and love to get updated photos, emails with updates and Christmas cards from our families.
- When puppies are picked up at 8 weeks old, we hope to continue to have a relationship with our puppy families and hear updates throughout the dog's life.
